Most of us here at PennySaverUSA.com have pets and are huge pet fans. We’re also big supporters of pet adoption. As a result, we’ve decided to launch a new blog feature in conjunction with local Humane Societies called Pet of the Week.
Each Wednesday we will spotlight a new pet up for adoption from one of the local Humane Societies and share a story from one of our readers about their personal experience with pet adoption.
Kicking off our Pet of the Week feature is Atlanta, pictured on the right. Here is the full description from the San Diego Humane Society:
Atlanta is a gorgeous kitty hoping to find a special family and home to cherish. With bright eyes and an eclectic spirit, she enjoys playing with feather toys, sunbathing and watching birds flutter outside her window.
While Atlanta enjoys spending time with her people friends, she is also very comfortable spending time on her own. Atlanta has a kitten-nature and is very curious and fun-loving. She will do well in a variety of homes. For the Fall into Love with a Furry Friend promotion, from September 6th through October 31st of 2011, her adoption fee is $25 and includes her spay, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, and a certificate for a free veterinary exam!
Atlanta is available for adoption at the North Campus of the San Diego Humane Society:

Now it’s time to share a touching story from one of our PennySaverUSA Twitter followers, Sandy (reach her @ @SLN319), who adopted an adorable dog several years ago. Here is her story (her pup’s picture is on the right):
My dog means a lot to me. His name is Cujo (because I just love horror movies). I decided to adopt him because I wanted a small dog as well as a new friend to the family. Dogs love you unconditionally and they give you much joy and happiness everyday. The benefits of pet adoption is to save a life — your pet will be healthy because most dogs are neutered and all are vaccinated. You’ll also save money as adoption is inexpensive and there’s a wide selection of animals to choose from. I highly recommend it! Cujo has been a beloved part of our family for eight years now.
