JAcket gets along great with everybody he meets, including friendly dogs. At 12 pounds, he’s a big kitty, but not huge. He’s still the perfect size to sit on your lap so he can look out the window while you scratch him behind his ears.

Nobody wants to wake up behind bars on New Year’s Day. That includes Koa, one of the Pets of the Week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He’s a 1 1/2 year old, 88 pound, neutered, male, German Shepherd mix.

Koa was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS program. He’s a happy, enthusiastic dog that will love you for the rest of his life. He can make himself at home almost anywhere. Koa is a big dog that loves going for walks and experiencing new adventures. He gets along great with kids of all ages, but his exuberance might be a bit too much for smaller children. He’s much better suited for bigger kids and adults.

Give Chinook kitty a loving home for Christmas
It will be a “Meow-ry” Christmas if you adopt Chinook, the Pet of the Week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. She’s a 1 year old, 10 pound, domestic, short-haired, Tabby cat. You can almost imagine her snuggled on Santa’s lap in front of a warm fire on a cold winter night.

Chinook was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS program. She likes everyone she meets, whether they’re people or other cats. She adjusted to the Cattery right away, but what she really needs is a loving home. As a one year-old car, she’s reached a certain level of maturity…But sometimes she just can’t help herself and she zooms around the room like a kitten. AS you can tell from her picture, Chinook is a stunningly beautiful young cat.

Hans is the adoptable Pet of the Week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. He’s an 8 year old, 10 pound, short-haired cat with a blue and white coat.

Hans was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society from another animal shelter through the FOCAS program. He can fit into almost any home, and likes other cats. He’s laid back, but still very social and affectionate. Hans loves sitting on laps and having people pet him, and especially loves being near people so he can “talk” to them. Just the same, he’s also just as happy to sit by a window and watch the birds outside, right up until his eyes are too heavy to keep open, and he drifts off into a cat nap.

Hans is definitely an “all things to all people” kind of cat, who will be a great addition to any home!

He’s such a social butterfly now, who tries to act tough, but pick him up and let the purring begin!

Chowder is the adoptable Pet of the Week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. He’s a 3 year old, 70 pound German Shepherd / Chow chow mix. This is a really great dog who needs an active family that will include him in everything they do. While he may enjoy a nap in the living room, Chowder is far from a couch potato.

Chowder was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society from a pet rescue group in Texas through the FOCAS program. That may explain why his personality is as big as Texas! He loves people, other dogs, and of course his dog toys. Chowder is always ready for a game of tug of war, and before he goes to bed at night, he really enjoys a nice rawhide chew as a late-night snack.

Bellaboo is the adoptable Pet of the Week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. She’s a 3 1/2 year old, 8 pound, short-haired Torbie cat. “Torbie” means that our sweet little Bellaboo is a mix between a Tortoise shell and a Tabby.

Bellaboo was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society from another animal shelter through the FOCAS program. She’s definitely “all that and a bag of catnip.” Sweet Bellaboo is a quiet kitty, unless you rub her tummy, that’s like turning on her “purr switch.” She also likes to rub up against things, your leg, the cabinets, other kitties, pretty much anything. You should also know that Bellaboo is a “top shelf” kitty who loves to sit or sleep up high on the top shelf, so she has a nice view of everything going on around her.

Sally was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the Friends of County Animal Shelters program. When it comes to being a kitten, Sally is enjoying every minute of it! She is very playful and loves attention. She loves burrowing under her blankets and chasing toy balls around the room. She’s a normal, happy, active kitten, but what sets little Sally apart from other kittens is the color of her fur coat. Almost all buff-colored Tabbies are male.

Georgia is the adoptable Pet of the Week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. She’s a 10 month old, 60 pound, spayed, female Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd mix.

Georgia arrived at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society along with her “sister” when their owner gave them both up. The care providers in the kennels say that both dogs are smart and independent, with just a touch of Labrador “goofiness.” Depending on the light, Georgia’s eyes are either soft brown or sparkly gold. They will love you, and they’re sure you’ll love them back!

Alpine is the adoptable Pet of the Week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. He’s a 1 1/2 year old, 15 pound, neutered, male Blue Point cat (with some white fur mixed in).

Alpine was adopted from Rancho Coastal Humane Society and ready to live happily-ever-after. But, it didn’t take long for his new family to discover that they’re allergic to cats! That’s not Alpine’s fault, but it still landed him back in the cattery at RCHS. Now he’s going through it all over again. Like most cats, he’s not fond of the cattery, and sometimes tries to hide under a blanket.

Alpine would much rather live in a nice, quiet home with his people and maybe another cat. Meet Alpine at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. If you can’t adopt him, maybe you can sponsor Alpine, or any of his other animal friends until they are adopted.
