My favorite PennySaver memory was (and is) reading all of the ads every week, especially on Mother’s or Father’s Day. They can be so sweet and sometimes they can be a bit silly or sad. To me, when that section is in the issue, it’s my ‘entertainment’ section of the PennySaver.                                                                        -Corona, CA

I usually don’t win contests or prizes, so I was skeptical about entering in a PennySaver contest. It was my lucky day after all! The first time I ever entered a Pennysaver contest, I won 2 Tickets to the Pirate Dinner Show in Buena Park, CA. My favorite Penny Saver memory is when we saw the ad for German Shepherd puppies. After we bought our AKC Shepherd, I looked into his eyes and knew he was the dog we always wanted. We named him Noble Good Heart. He has been the greatest protective watch dog ever. One night he was barking like crazy, he kept circling a Green Mohave rattle snake, he saved us from stepping on it. Thank you PennySaver for allowing pets to be sold, We believe he saved our lives. -Joshua Tree, CA

When I was just starting out surfing, I could not afford a new board. I got a great used board in the PenneySaver for $30. It was the best surfboard I have ever owned and all my best memories of learning to surf are tied to that board and my PennySaver find! -Huntington Beach, CA

Every time the PennySaver would come, my dad would circle all the garage sales he wanted to go to. My dad and I were avid garage sales attendees and went every Saturday. My dad has passed away now. I miss those circles and I miss my dad. -Long Beach, CA

After my dearest friend and neighbor’s dog died, her daughter got her a new pup from the Orange County Animal Shelter. Muffin was a graduate of the prestigious ‘prison pup program’ that teaches inmates compassion and life skills. Muffin also has regular grooming sessions at Pet Hospital in Orange. Was I ever surprised to see the most well-behaved, glamorous dog in the neighborhood on the cover of the Pennysaver in one of Dr. Wiatt’s ads. It made Muffin’s mommy so proud. -Orange, CA

The best penny saver memory will be the time I won two tickets for the Medieval Times show. I had never won anything in my life so, as you may imagine, I was jumping up an down when I recieved the tickets through mail. -Los Angeles, CA

My favorite PennySaver memory shall forever be imprinted in my heart. It was in January , 2000 when I was browsing through the animal/pets classified section of the PennySaver. My daughter and I had been thinking about getting a companion for our then 3 yr. old German Shepherd, Bullet. The ad was for German Shepherd puppies. We went to check it out. Lo and behold, we arrived at the nick of time. There was only one very shy puppy left, just meant for us! We named her Heidi. She became a wonderful companion to Bullet and a devoted, loving, family member. She passed away a few years ago and there isn’t a day we don’t think about Heidi. If it wouldn’t have been for the PennySaver, we would never have found our priceless gift. Thank you, PennySaver! Redondo Beach-CA
