How-To Pamper Yourself for Cheap
Looking good doesn’t have to cost a fortune. It just takes a little bit more time to find those special discounts. If you’re not the type to spend $100 on a hair cut and blowdry, here are some ways to spend less and still look great!
- Find a beauty school. Beauty schools offer discounts to those who volunteer to be models for students undergoing training to become a hairstylist or esthetician. They offer beauty services for half the price of salons and students are under close supervision by professionals. An appointment may last longer than your typical salon appointment so plan accordingly.
- What do bananas, cucumbers, eggs, olive oil, and honey have in common? They’re all easily in your fridge or pantry, and you can whip up your own beauty products. Mix some bananas, egg white, and yogurt to create a face mask. Or dab a little lemon juice to remove sun spots. Use some strawberries and coarse salt to naturally ex-foliate your skin while making it smell delicious.
- Recycle old lipstick! You can use leftover lipstick to give your cheeks some color. Simply melt the lipstick in the microwave and mix in some moisturizer to lighten the shade to your preference. Mix it in very well to break down the color pigments in the lipstick so it will properly blend with your moisturizer before applying to your cheeks.
- Bathe like a goddess. Mix in 1/2 cup of powdered milk into your hot bath to leave your skin feeling silky soft.
- If you must go to your salon, try to make an appointment on weekdays and check to see if they have “after work” specials for price discounts.
- Drink your daily 8 glasses of water. Rather than spending more money for soda or coffee, hydrate yourself (and your skin) by drinking more water! It’ll help you flush out toxins in your body leaving you feeling healthy and looking great!
Self-pampering should just be about relaxing. So take some time off to enjoy the day!
